Teenager Charged With Shot Of Killing Store Clerk In Mesquite, TX

A 15-year-old boy was in police custody Thursday and charged with the shooting death of a store worker in Mesquite, authorities said.

The minor faces a charge of capital murder in the fatal shooting, which took place on Wednesday afternoon.

The teenager was taken into custody overnight, Mesquite police said.

The fatal shooting was reported shortly after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at a store on the 1800 block of N. Galloway Avenue in Mesquite.

Upon arrival, police found a man with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the ground. He was taken to the local hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

The name of the store clerk had not been released Thursday.

Mesquite Police said the investigation led to the 15-year-old’s arrest Wednesday night in Dallas. The authorities did not disclose the name of the suspect because he is a minor.

Mesquite police did not provide any further details about the shooting or the arrest. Dallas Police were involved in the arrest.
