Suspects wanted for robbery and assault on convenience store clerk – Trentonian

EVESHAM – At 10:44 p.m. on October 12, Evesham Township police responded to 7-Eleven in Meetinghouse Square, located at 300 Greentree Road, with a reported theft. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the clerk had been physically assaulted by two men and tobacco products had been stolen.

The investigation determined that two suspects entered the business to purchase vape-related items, which were turned down on suspicion of being minors. A diversionary tactic was attempted, in particular the suspects intentionally smashed a glass bottle in an attempt to lure the clerk behind the counter. When this was unsuccessful, the two suspects came behind the counter and physically assaulted the clerk, throwing him to the ground and repeatedly punching him in the face.

The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction. A perimeter was established and a K-9 unit was called to the scene to assist in the search. The store clerk was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for facial injuries.

Suspect # 1 was a taller white male with a slim build and longer, curly light-colored hair.

Suspect # 2 was a shorter white Hispanic male with black hair and a beard. Both suspects were wearing backpacks, black hoodies and “COVID” masks.
