Suspect search underway after store clerk dies in Talladega County robbery

TALLADEGA Co., Ala. (WBRC) – Officials are looking for a suspect after a Talladega County store clerk was killed in a robbery Wednesday night, according to Talladega County Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore.

Kilgore said at around 10.16pm there was a robbery at the Crown service station on the Old Birmingham Motorway.

Deputies were called to the store to investigate around 9.45am on Thursday morning.

When they arrived, they found Sri Satya Krishna Chitturi, 27, unresponsive inside the store. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are asking for your help in locating a suspect in the shooting who was captured under surveillance at the store. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6′ to 6′2 with a slender build. He was last seen wearing black clothes, an Air Jordan backpack, with black and white Nike shoes.
