At around 10 p.m., High Point officers responded to Apple Tree Grocery on East Green Drive when they were notified of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers found the 30-year-old seller with multiple gunshot wounds to his groin and legs.

Officers rescued the victim until EMS arrived and took him to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Police say the investigation found that two male suspects were impatient and didn’t want to wait to pay for their beer at the checkout and entered the beer cooler to persuade another employee to take their money. When he refused, they shot the store clerk, the statement said.

The shooting was filmed in CCTV. The video shows two men arguing with the clerk in the beer cooler area.

As the two men exit the beer cooler, the taller man in the white shirt removes a handgun from his belt and shoots the clerk several times.

After the shooting, the two suspects exited the store and were seen leaving the area in a white Jeep Cherokee.

High Point Police are still looking for the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing.
