Nassau store worker sold THC gummies to minors: police

WESTBURY, NY – Nassau County Police have arrested a store clerk they believe was illegally selling THC products to underage customers.

Police say Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives were investigating after two 16-year-old girls ate gummies containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). According to police, the investigation led detectives to the Carmen Exotics Smoke Shop, located at 811 Carmen Ave. at Westbury.

According to police, on June 15, Ahmed Al Maghrebi Maher, 31, of New York, sold THC gummies and a vaping device to an undercover agent. He was arrested a few minutes later.

Maher is charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He is due to stand trial later today in Hempstead First District Court.
