MPs identify homeless man still wanted for firing store clerk in Wellford | New

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX CAROLINE) – MPs have identified a homeless man wanted for an armed robbery in Wellford, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said the Southern Pride convenience store on Nazareth Road was the victim of an armed robbery on Monday, October 11 at around 9:30 p.m.

MPs said the suspect fired several shots at the clerk.

The suspect was identified on the morning of Thursday, October 14, as 43-year-old Carl Darel Peterson, MPs said.

We are told that the investigation revealed that Peterson is homeless and “very transient”. He now has active mandates for the following:

  • Unloading a firearm in a dwelling
  • Illegal possession of a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon while committing a violent crime
  • Removal
  • Attempted murder
  • Armed robbery
