Man convicted in 2013 of murdering South Lake Tahoe store clerk

A Las Vegas man was convicted Wednesday of the 2013 murder of a South Lake Tahoe store worker. Sean Donohoe, 34, shot and killed Manpreet Singh, who worked at the American gas station at 2470 Lake Tahoe Blvd. An El Dorado County judge sentenced Donohoe to 50 years to life. This investigation was considered a cold case until the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office released a video related to the homicide in 2017. Surveillance video shows a man, later identified as Donohoe, wearing a mask, walking from the back of a store near Palmira Avenue. He then turns the corner and enters the building. He appears to have made eye contact with Singh before shooting him. Next, he is seen leaving the store the same way he entered it. A witness watched the video in 2019 and identified Donohoe as the suspect, police said. Investigators used that information and found DNA evidence from the scene that matched Donohoe, police said. The El Dorado County Cold Case Task Force worked with the FBI and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to arrest Donohoe. Police said Donohoe lived in South Lake Tahoe in 2013 before moving to Las Vegas.
