Florence store worker shot dead in attempted robbery, 3 suspects still at large, police say

FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) — A Florence convenience store owner was shot and wounded early Sunday morning in an attempted armed robbery, and three suspects remain at large, police said.

Florence police were called at 5:22 a.m. to the On The Go store at 305 Pamplico Highway and found the injured clerk in the store. Officers helped the person until EMS arrived and took him to the hospital.

Police say two men with fists entered the store while a third person waited outside. The suspects demanded money and the salesman was shot dead before the pair left the store and drove off in a dark colored sedan.

One of the suspects was wearing a camouflage jacket, black jeans, gloves and a face mask, police said. The other wore black and a black hoodie with an orange design on the front, possibly a tree.
