This story has been updated. The store clerk’s age was incorrectly stated in an initial police report.

A store clerk shot in the abdomen during a burglary at the Firestone Mini-Mart on Saturday night was listed in stable condition on Sunday, police said.

Akron agents are looking for two men who entered the store shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday.

“Based on information gathered at the scene, it appears that two black suspects entered the store, walked behind the counter and demanded money,” Lt. Michael Miller said in a statement on Sunday. “During the theft, one of the suspects shot the clerk in the abdomen before the two subjects fled with an undisclosed sum of money.”

The 26-year-old employee was transported from the Aster Avenue store in the Firestone Park neighborhood to the Cleveland Clinic Akron General “where he is listed in stable condition. The victim’s injuries are not considered to be putting his life threatening, ”Miller said.

Investigators located “shell casings and other evidence” at the scene. No arrests were made.
