Ex-husband charged in stabbing death of Texas City convenience store employee

A man is in jail for the stabbing death of his wife, who was killed while working as a clerk at a Texas City convenience store Monday night.

Bryan Miller has been charged with the murder of Crystal Patterson and is being held in Texas City Jail.

Texas City Police say they received a stabbing call at the TimeWise Shell located in the 400 block of Highway 146 south just after 9:30 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the store clerk, later identified as Patterson, unresponsive and not breathing.

Texas City EMS arrived shortly after and confirmed the 36-year-old was dead.

Then at 10:14 p.m., Texas City police received a call from a man who claimed his friend, identified as Miller, told them he had stabbed his wife. Detectives and patrol officers responded to Miller’s residence in the 900 block of Lane Road and detained the 58-year-old without incident.

Bryan Miller, 58, is accused of stabbing his wife while working at a convenience store in Texas City.

During the investigation, it was determined that Miller was the estranged husband of the store employee who was killed.

His bail is set at $250,000 and he is awaiting transfer to the Galveston County Jail.
