Enid convenience store clerk shot dead in robbery, police search for suspects

ENID, Okla. (KFOR) – Authorities in Enid are investigating a robbery that led to the death of a convenience store employee.

“It’s sad,” said Tina Fuentes, a friend of the victim. “The people at the store, they’re all friends and family, and they’ve lost a family member.”

Shortly before 2:30 a.m. Friday, Enid Police Department dispatchers received a 911 call about a possible shooting at the Maine Street Mini Mart.

“Someone just got shot at the gas station,” the caller said. “We were refueling when we heard them firing the gun.”

The witness reported seeing three men enter the store before hearing gunshots and fleeing the area.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the store clerk suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigators say the store also appears to have been robbed

Sadly, authorities say the store employee died of his injuries. He has been identified as Kristopher Osburn, 34.

“[He was a] sweet person, never mean to anyone,” Fuentes said. “He was going back and forth to work every day. It didn’t matter if it was rain, snow, whatever it was. He did his job. He loved his family.

Police are still trying to locate the three men involved in the incident.

“Time is of the essence in these types of investigations,” said Cass Rains of the Enid Police Department. “Unbeknownst to you, some information may be essential to our investigation.”
